What to do when making a claim
- Lodge your claim as soon as possible after the loss.
- Take reasonable steps to prevent further loss or damage
- Report theft, vandalism or malicious damage to the police
- Keep the damaged property and items for inspection if required
- Provide details of the at-fault party if a third party caused the damage
- Tell us if any prosecution or inquest may be held
- Provide your ABN, if applicable
- Whether you are registered for GST
- The amount of input tax credit claimed on the GST component of the premium’
Please note: Delays in providing requested information may affect claim processing time and payment.
What not to do when making a claim
- Repair or replace damaged property without our consent
- Arrange permanent repairs before we have assessed the damage
- Dispose of damaged items before we have confirmed whether inspection is required
- Admit responsibility to any other party
- Offer to pay, or agree to pay, any costs to a third party
- Promise payment or compensation to anyone
- Sign any documents or agreements that accept liability

Notify us immediately
As soon as you become aware of the incident, contact us so we can record the event and provide guidance.
Send us any correspondence
If you receive a demand, notice or communication from a third party or their legal representative, forward it to us straight away.
Submit the Liability Claim form
Fill out the Liability Claim form and submit it together with any supporting documents or correspondence received.
Do not admit liability
Do not admit responsibility, agree to pay costs, or sign any documents relating to the incident.
