Residential Landlord Insurance is designed to provide
the necessary insurance protection with respect to tenanted
individual strata title units and non-strata unit complexes.
As an owner of an individual strata title unit you
are responsible for any loss or damage to the following
contents within your unit:
- Paint on walls/wallpaper (NSW only)
- Carpet/carpet tiles
- Internal unit blinds/curtains
- Removable light fittings
- Dishwashers not permanently fixed
- Microwave ovens
- Refrigerators
- Washing machines
- Clothes dryers
- Mirrors
- Window air conditioners
- General furniture
Features of our policy include the following:
- Accidental damage or loss wording (as defined)
- Malicious damage caused by tenants
- Theft by tenants
- Intentional and deliberate damage by tenants
- Loss of rent as a result of property damage (e.g.
fire) – up to 52 weeks
- Loss of rent due to undue departure of your tenant
– up to $5,000
- Loss of rent due to default in payment by your
tenant – up to $5,000
- Legal costs to recover monies owed to you –
up to $1,000
Covers you for your legal liability in respect to personal
injury or property damage claims arising from the ownership
of your individual strata unit or non-strata unit complex.
As an owner of an individual strata unit you are responsible
for injury or damage that occurs within your unit. Generally
the Body Corporate is responsible for common areas only.
